As a mentor at Google Developer Group (GDG) Addis Ababa University, I guided 50+ computer science students through backend development using Node.js and JavaScript. I ran weekly workshops covering API design, database modeling, and server-side architecture, and worked directly with students on real-world projects, helping them debug, build, and ship functional software from the ground up.

At Chapa, Ethiopia's leading payment infrastructure company, I worked as a Frontend Engineer contributing to the development and public launch of multiple products within their ecosystem. I was part of the team that built and shipped Chapa Events, a platform enabling merchants to create and sell paid event tickets directly through Chapa's network. I also built core frontend features for Chapa Donations, streamlining online fundraising workflows for individuals and organizations across the platform. Beyond new features, I collaborated closely with backend and product teams to improve the Merchant Dashboard, with a focus on performance, usability, and scalability for a growing merchant base.

At Gebeya, a pan-African tech and talent platform, I worked as a backend-focused software engineer building and maintaining the internal systems that kept the business running. I designed and developed REST APIs powering internal CRM and platform optimization tools, built backend services for employee leave management and project tracking, and implemented enterprise-grade authentication using Keycloak, covering Single Sign-On and role-based access control across multiple internal applications.
