I’m this period the organisation became a dynamic, award winning charity, defined by a constant ambition to punch above its weight. My role as leader was to overhaul all governance and financial systems, align services which strategic goals, increase income generation steams, and transform the image of SBHI into a highly marketable, awareness raising organisation. Through developing highly motivated teams, we were able to advocate both with and for those affected by one or both of the conditions. I left SBHI after six years to develop my own company, Atom creates.

As the Marketing and Communications Department developed into a more dynamic entity it was my responsibility to ensure significant progress was made in terms of establishing the new Shine brand in the UK charitable sector. In September 2012 the decision was made to amalgamate the Marketing and Communications Dept with the Community and Events Fundraising Team. Since then it has been my role to as Fundraising and Communications Manager to develop effective marketing, communications and PR with creative community fundraising initiatives. This also includes all In Mem, Direct Mail, and Regular Giving fundraising. In leading this team I am employing my skills of creativity, editing, formulating copy, recording and editing moving and still images, and managing staff in order to enhance our brand, and ultimately, our effectiveness in supporting everyone affected by spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
