A period in national newspaper colour supplements saw Paul at the forefront of the development of a supermarket brand supplement – which developed into a client – and enabled him to become a founding partner in the contract publishing company Gowers Elmes.
Customer magazines were developed and launched, advertising space sold, and advertorials were art directed and produced for clients including the FT.
When he can find time Paul is in his studio where his practise involves abstract collage from found materials including magazines and advertising posters.
His LinkedIn profile lists Paul as the Creative Director of the start-up Checkpoint, a media company that looks at the impact of videogames on society, culture politics and education. But while the start-up does its start-up thing, a guy has to eat, so needs freelance design work to put food on the table please. Recent work includes pitch documents for 'Vision 2030 Made in Saudi', social media banners for Incisive Media and a bathroom catalogue for a mate.
Way back, Paul completed a B.A.(Hons) in design from Manchester, so much to answer for. He now lives and works in London.
He's happiest working remotely with Adobe Creative Cloud from home, but call him on and he will venture in-house if provided with limitless tea.
