I have worked across the whole DevOps lifecycle, from managing development tooling, environments, codebases and pipelines, through to managing production deployments, infrastructure and monitoring.
Most of my experience has been with AWS and private clouds where I have used industry best-practises to create and maintain infrastructure.
I have quite a passion for automation and CI/CD, especially with managing codebases using Git.
I have worked purely as a Senior DevOps engineer on complex projects, creating infrastructure and improving processes and code-bases, as well as a people manager, Tech Lead and Scrum master, where I have had to manage workloads using JIRA.
I have improved all the projects I have worked on for any decent period of time, and am always looking to improve and automate to help organisations and teams to deliver faster. In the past I have automated Git branching, merging and reporting, done quite a lot with code and project generation, and am always looking to improve things like user onboarding and other daily tasks.
Despite my long career in DevOps, I still enjoy coding and do so in my own time and on projects. I would also be open to coding projects and over the past few years I have created various applications with Rails, Python, Java, and JavaScript. Some of which have been: a Java and JavaScript application on top of GPT3 as a proof-of-concept for a business; a Python daemon to alert users to infrastructure issues; a Ruby-on-Rails application build on top of GitLab to allow users to manage infrastructure.
I am happy to negotiate my day rate based on hours required and flexibility.
