Emily in a few words
Hi, I'm Emily. I've been working in the non-profit arts sector for the past 5 years and after the birth of my first child I decided to go freelance to work flexibly with my hours but also to experience working in other sectors.

A little bit about my background, I'm a English Literature Graduate from CCCU so my first love is always going to be books. I jumped straight out of Uni into my position at one of the top producing regional theatres in the country. Whilst working at the theatre in the busy marketing department, over the 5 years we went through an ambitious restoration project, a "tent" season and recommissioning our shiny new build. During the is time myself and the team were instrumental in assuring that during all the chaos we still had a steady stream of customers, with 4 record breaking pantomime seasons under our belts.

Alongside this I undertook various courses, including multiple training days for the ticketing software Spektrix. As such my role over the years progressed from Marketing Officer to Marketing and Data Management Officer, this role encompassed my specialism in ticketing software and also my self-taught love of statistics and data processing.

In terms of my approach to work, whilst I've been known to work 18 hour days in the past in order to complete time-sensitive projects when we've been up against it, it's not something I'm keen to continue! I very much need a work/life balance now with my little boy in the mix. However, flexible hours means that I am available evenings and weekends and I am able to enlist childcare (with reasonable notice) if a short-term project needs particular day-time hours worked.

I'm a hard worker but enjoy having a laugh and try to be a positive friendly influence.

I look forward to working with you!
