My name is Berta Valverde and I’m a videographer and photographer living and working in Cornwall. I was born and raised under the sunny skies of Spain but moved to England 12 years ago following my dream of becoming a photographer / filmmaker. I started my career off as a trained Psychologist and Neuroscientist but after a few years decided that I wanted to express my creativity and applied my knowledge into something more challenging and I am really passionate about. So I decided to quit my secure job and enrol onto a Digital Filmmaking degree in Oxford where I completed my course and became self-employed media artist for a wide range of different roles within the industry. I have worked on many well-known series and films like Black Mirror, McQueen, God’s own country, and remarkable international directors like Mohsen Makhmalbaf.

As a photographer / Videographer, I am always pursuing to capture that “special moment” that makes the image unique. That’s why I especially have a fascination for water photography. The ocean, with its ever changing forms, its unpredictable nature and its raw light make every shot unrepeatable and special.

My background in Psychology and Neuroscience has helped me to develop my social skills and my ability to listen to people and interpret their needs and vision, but also, to understand human perception and emotions that are involved in processing picture, image and sound.
On a personal level, I am very creative, energetic, hard working, reliable and capable in fast-paced environments and extremely attentive to detail.
