I am a Business Analysis with experience of programming, database design and development, data analysis, and software test management.

I have approximately 7 years experience in Data Governance, Metadata Management, and Data Quality, using tools such as Collibra. I have achieved the Collibra Data Stewardship and Workflow Engineering certifications.

I have experience in a number of different domains, including banking, health, aerospace, utilities, local authorities, and social housing.

I have previously programmed in C++, Java, C, and Visual Basic, which is particularly useful when acting as a conduit between the business and the IT teams.

I have experience of technical and legal writing.

I am very analytical and thorough and have the ability to explain complex and technical concepts using plain and simple English language.

My approach to any project is to gain an understanding of the problem domain, the business processes, and the issues that is being faced by the business.

I then consider potential solutions at a high level by creating current business process diagrams and future state business processes diagrams, which facilitate discussions with stakeholders about the potential solutions.

Once there is agreement on the solution at a high level, I would take part in the requirements gathering process or writing user stories if working in an agile environment.

If the project is a Data Governance or Collibra project, I would also be involved in designing the data governance solution and configuring the tool and work on the implementation. I would also create user guides and training guides and take part in training key people in the business.
