Expertise (28)
Alex in a few words
A motivated, versatile and eager software engineer.

I enjoy:

- building web-apps / micro-services,
- creating automated tests
- anything cloud infrastructure
- learning
- a challenge

Generally, I am backend focused but no stranger to React or Vue. Communication, reliability and approachability have also been complimented.

In previous roles I have:

- Improved ETL efficiency of 200k customer data pipelines by over 50%, created automated tests for them and improved vital business feeds with Slack integrations. This was achieved using Python, Airflow, AWS S3, AWS Glue ( Spark ), AWS Redshift ( Postgres ) and made a monthly saving on AWS billing of over 6k.

- Brought on as the 2nd engineer in a team to deliver critical features; largely python mico-services hosted in a kubernetes environment. Delivering the product improved system processes by 50x achieved using kubernetes auto-scaling, and rebuilding current code they had. This role saw the team turn a dificult to maintain code base, into a new architecture. Micro-services with automated tests in CI/CD scripts and code coverage of over 83%.

- Led presentations on OOP and Solid principles, coined "lightning talks", 15 minutes presentations on one principle or pattern at a time.

- Led python teams on the build of new services, such as a django app using postgres which maintained a set of rules employees can use to alter software processes.

I would love an oppportunity to demonstrate my ability, and look forward to future correspondence!

Kindly,

Alex
